Lyft and Uber claim to pay drivers 70% of a fare after “fees”. Yesterday I paid $32 for a ride where the driver only got $7 (confirmed on his Lyft app). It’s hard to imagine that fees totaled $22, leaving $10 for the fare, $7 for the driver, and $3 for Lyft. I love the safety that Lyft and Uber bring to rides versus the old days (trust me, I have stories). But I don’t love that drivers get so little of the total.
