Coincidental to Weir's death, I've been realizing lately how many songs I like from other artists are actually Grateful Dead covers, coming from a band I never much listened to directly until recently. (Also, I've appreciated David Graham's political coverage in the past, but it turns out he's also a very good music writer.)
