I spent quite a bit of time in the early days of fatherhood reviewing children's books. I got tired and stopped after 400 reviews. But it forced me to think critically about the books I was reading to my kid. There's a lot of pretty generic work out there. But also, we are in a golden age of picture book writers, with Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett and Corey Tabor and Mo Willems all currently working. I loved this interview of Mo, who understands the mechanics better than almost anyone.
