The rise of child free hotels is a natural reaction to the rise of less strict parenting. Many kids on trips are extremely excited and can subsequently also be extremely disruptive and rude. A parent’s tolerance for those antics is much higher than everyone else’s. Similarly, my tolerance for my dog is higher than a strangers would be. I’m not offended by places that ban kids, pets, or phones to deliver luxury and rest and peace and calm. An expensive public playground isn’t a luxury vacation.
