In France, there was such a contest over what man could portray Napoléon I in historic reenactments that it ended up being a Netflix documentary. I saw Frank in action several times during his reign from 2005-2015, most notably at the bicentennial of Napoleon’s adieu on the steps at Fontainebleau.
