Looks like the U.S. is set to ban TikTok, the giant Chinese social media app (that isn’t permitted for use in China!). This seems to be a huge move of regulation by the federal government in social media and the internet, mirroring China, Nigeria, and other places where the flow of information is more tightly controlled. Two questions I’m asking: 1. Is it really about consumer info protection (and not national security)? 2. Will this make Snapchat (another app I never used) relevant again?
