Good on Mike DeWine for writing this, but it reads like a dispatch from at least a decade in the past. Trump and now Vance have turned the GOP into an explicitly anti-immigrant party, and there's no going back from that that doesn't involve Trump losing and Republicans moving on from MAGA.
