Taxing links to news sites for the supposed benefit of journalism is one of the dumbest policies gaining popularity right now. Predictably, it's the news sites that lose out from the loss of traffic. And now Canada demonstrates another unintended consequence: users sharing screenshots instead of links, dumbing down social media even further.
