I'm not taking this tend piece to be truly representative, but this is one of the outcomes I said might happen in my book The Rediscovery of Tobacco: that safer sources of nicotine would displace cigarettes as a product for habitual consumption, but also leave space open for people to get into more artisanal forms of tobacco.
