Because zero- and negative-sum games have losers, authoritarians tend to be much more interested in identifying every other player as on team “us” or team “them.” Liberals, by contrast, prefer games that leave everyone better off and thus are less concerned with who is on what “team.”

Is authoritarianism inherently anti-social?
On my last post my BFF fakegeekgrill commented that she agrees left/right isn’t the relevant political divide. Excellent. Love it when smart women agree with me. But she’s always thought the most relevant divide is pro-social versus anti-social.
