To my knowledge, literally no one evaluates doctors based on how quickly and correctly they diagnose and treat their patients’ illnesses. Why aren’t payers doing this? Is it cheaper for payers to maintain the status quo? Is chronic illness more profitable than incentivizing doctors to correctly diagnosis and treat patients?
