Guess what the two non-clusterfuck meals had in common. If you guessed “he’d cooked them before” you get the prize of being the kind of person who doesn’t need to fuck up five times to learn a lesson your girlfriend tried to teach you before you tried at all.

We both err, but in opposite directions
It took an hour and a half and one wine glass didn’t make it, but the kitchen is finally clean post-brunch. I understand why people don’t have other people, especially new people, over that often. But I kept hearing in my books and podcasts about these couples who would throw these wonderful parties and meet people and connect other people and I wanted to be like that. Besides, I’m still relatively new to town. I need to meet people. I can’t afford to take them out. Plus, I already keep a very clean house for mental health reasons. And we’re fairly centrally located.
