I'm open minded about various Twitter competitors, but Threads is the first one I've viscerally disliked from the start. Terrible algorithm, no chronological feed of people you follow, and people I followed on Instagram for pretty pictures are not necessarily people I want to read short text posts from. So far, I hate it. Yet as this piece notes, with enough influencers and easy onboarding, it may not really need to be good to be successful.
