This tracks with my experience. I'm not itching to leave and I think *some* elements of Portland's decline are overblown but across so many dimensions -- inflation, petty theft, increased tax burden, (lack of) permitting, trash, even the decline of tall bikes -- Portland feels a little bit worse than it did 2, 5, and 10 years ago.
