As ex-barista, I'm not sold on the idea that most people (including myself) should make espresso at home instead of mastering manual brews: too finicky, expensive, wasteful, and space-consuming for anyone not really dedicated to doing it right. Still, this is a really interesting article on how home machines are evolving. And I never would have guessed that Nespresso debuted way back in 1986.
