Of all the things I missed pre-vaccine, coffee shops were the top of the list. And even now that things have opened up, at least in high-anxiety Portland, a lot of "third places" are still less likely to lead to chance conversations with strangers as people still have their guard up about distancing.
Do Yourself a Favor and Go Find a ‘Third Place’
We need physical spaces for serendipitous, productivity-free conversation.
