Long but insightful read (note the included caveats!). To apply the analysis to Seabird, one of the things that inspired our concept is that the combination of high political engagement, polarization, and deemphasis of the written word on social media has been toxic to political culture. (Twitter is written, but with its short length and embedded images it's more memeable and comparable to TV.) Obviously, one ambition of Seabird is to reward more written discourse.
