I agree with most everything Brooks has written, except his comment that income disparity is not the main problem. Of course it is. It’s worse than the disparity that inspired the French Revolution, and it informs the education crisis we have that he does acknowledge. Cmon man. Citing disposable income between the U.S. and Europe is incredibly reductive and inaccurate to quality of life. But maybe he’s relying on readers of poor education to miss those mistakes.
