As someone who has only held full time positions until 2023 (when I got my first contractor job), I can’t help but notice the similarities between Microsoft and American Express in their willingness to hire people for core jobs, provide equipment, demand how and when they work, but still classify them as contractors to whom they don’t owe benefits or profit sharing.
