Today is my one year anniversary of joining Seabird, and fittingly, my 500th post! So—why share articles online or engage in social media? This paper covers six recent studies. TL;DR: We are more likely to share content that is positive, emotional, or useful. We share to connect with others and to make a good impression. Important mediators are whether this content, having passed the bars above, feels relevant to us or seems relevant to our audience. Hope I’m meeting expectations!
